
Past NCBFAA President Amy Magnus to Receive Coveted Centurion Award During 53rd Annual Conference!
Past NCBFAA President Amy Magnus will receive the coveted Centurion Award during the closing ceremony of the 53rd NCBFAA Annual Conference at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa in Texas on April 15. NCBFAA will present this award to Magnus, a longtime NCBFAA Member, Committee Chair, Past President, and Senior Counselor of the association, in appreciation of her outstanding vision, leadership, and dedication to the betterment of the international freight transportation community.

The NCBFAA Centurion Award was established in 2006 by then NCBFAA President Federico (Kiko) Zuniga to be the association’s highest recognition to an individual member for his or her dedication to the customs brokerage industry. Amy Magnus will join an esteemed list of past recipients, including Arthur Litman (2006), Harvey Isaacs (2007), Paul Wegener (2008), Leonard Shayne (2009), Peter Powell Sr. (2010), Harold Brauner (2011), Kenneth Bargteil (2013), Mary Ann Comstock (2015), William (Billy) App (2019), Jonathan Kent (2020), Edward Greenberg (2021), Mary Jo Muoio (2023), Federico (Kiko) Zuniga (2024), and Geoff Powell (2025).
Amy is a licensed Customs Broker and has served as Director of Customs Affairs and Compliance at AN Deringer, Inc., for nearly 20 years. She was NCBFAA President from 2018-2020 before transitioning to NCBFAA Senior Counselor. Amy also served on the 14th and 15th term of the Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations to Customs and Border Protection (COAC) and as President of the Northern Border Customs Brokers Association.
Before becoming a licensed Customs Broker, Amy worked at CBP for 18 years. When she left CBP, she was the Trade Manager in the Champlain, New York Area Service Port, and before that was a CBP Fines, Penalties, and Forfeiture Officer for five years. Earlier she served as a CBP Inspector and Import Specialist. Amy is a graduate of the University of Vermont and holds an advanced teaching certificate from the same university.
